Our Story

01

Our Journey

Welcome to Atiga Restaurant — Winnipeg's home of authentic West African cuisine. Located at 329 William Ave in the vibrant heart of downtown Winnipeg, our journey began with CEO Abigail Yamba's deep belief in the power of food to heal, connect, and sustain community. Guided by the motto "Let food be thy medicine," Atiga has grown from a neighbourhood favourite into a recognized cultural dining destination, celebrated by Tourism Winnipeg and the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.

02

Our Menu

Our menu is a celebration of bold, time-honoured West African recipes passed down through generations. From the rich and hearty Egusi Soup served with Pounded Yam to the iconic Jollof Rice, every dish is prepared with authentic spices and traditional techniques. Atiga is also renowned for its Amala with Ewedu and Gbigiri — widely regarded as the best in Winnipeg — alongside Moin Moin, Sawa Sawa, and Foo Foo served with deeply spiced soups.

03

Our Experience

At Atiga Restaurant, we believe in creating more than just meals — we create memorable cultural experiences. Stepping inside, guests are welcomed by a warm interior adorned with African scarves, traditional drums, and hand-crafted trinkets that transport diners to the heart of West Africa. Whether you're joining us for dine-in, takeout, delivery, or catering a special event, we bring an unforgettable taste of West Africa to your table.
